Novoletne voščilnice - Jelenčki / New Year Cards - Reindeers

Takoj, ko je Tina predstavila nove štampiljke in šablone jelenčkov, so mi bili zelo všeč, zato bom najprej pokazala voščilnice z jelenčki.

After looong time I was finally back to my crafting corner. I had only a few days left before Christmas, to make all my new year cards. Although my collection is not very big, I still made a variety of different cards. Of course, I got many ideas from other crafters' blogs.
As soon as Tina presented the reindeer collection of stamps and stencils, I was in love with it, therefore I will firstly present my cards with reindeers.

Don't forget: The candy on my blog is still ongoing!

I made these cards a while ago, but I did not manage to post it. I borrowed the sock stamp from a crafting friend Natali. After cutting the socks, I coloured it with Promarkers and embellished with glitter. On the top white part I also added some decorating paste and more glitter for the 3D "furry" effect.

No, pa preidimo k bistvu.

This post will be a bit different than usually. When I created this blog, I just moved abroad. Since I wanted to improve my English and as I browsed many foreign blogs, I found the idea to write in English great. However, I want to feel more connected with my fellow crafters from Slovenia. Not that they do not understand English, but it just feels more genuine. Therefore from now on, my post will be bilingual.

Well, lets get to the point now.
We can smell the festivities and we have already lit the first advent candle. If we are lucky a bit of snow may make this December really magical. As a kid I was always impatiently waiting for December 6th (or the evening of December 5th, when we left a letter for St. Nicholas). Of course, I always prepared a list of things I wanted beforehand - and not only that, besides writing it, I also draw it - you know, just in case he would not know what I meant... :)

Since December is a month of giving presents, I decided to arrange a candy on my blog. Although I do not have any specific stats (my blog is active since June 2012 - there were times when I was super active and also super quiet; and this is my 81st post), I just wanted to say Thank you to all the lovely girls and fellow crafters that visit this page and share your thoughts.

The candy is a 10 € voucher for Tina's shop Najlepši par - I am sure there is something from her super crafty collection that you like but do not have yet.
To be included in the draw, which will take part on 1.1.2016, just leave a comment below.
I would be very grateful if you could also spread the word...

Meanwhile... I wish you a magical December!

Thank You

Tina and Vladka's new challenge and the story behind made me stop and think... The topic is gratitude. How often do we say thank you... it may sound such an ordinary word? 10 times a day at least? But how often do we really think about people and things that really matter to us and we are grateful for?
Sometimes it is just good to pause, stop thinking of what more we want, what is missing... and just enjoy the present, grateful for what we have and whom we share it with.

Let this post also be a thank you for all of you who are reading my blog and post all the lovely comments.

This is an old thank you card I sent to Hali, when I won her candy.

Piggy bank

A dear friend of mine has bought a glass container which she wanted to use as a piggy bank. I was very honoured when she asked me to colour it. She did not give me any indications or instructions, so I decided to make it very colourful and playful.
I used a relief contour for glass to draw lines and created various geometric shapes, which I coloured using transparent and mat glass paint.
On the picture you can only see the glass part (photographed from different sides), since the cover was assembled later.

Happy 30th

A very dear friend of mine celebrated her 30th birthday (and joined us in the 30 club :) ). For her card I used pastel pink base and a darker pink design paper. I heat embossed the upper part of the card with an image of a butterfly and antique writing. I used Tina's stencils for the numbers and I made three little flowers from felt.

Happy Birthday Val

My youngest nephew celebrated his 3rd birthday this month. I was far away (on the other side of the world), therefore I could not congratulate him in person or even via Skype. However, I prepared a parcel for him beforehand and left it with my mum, who did the postman role.
This is the card I enclosed to the gift.

Welcome Baby

Last week a friend of mine gave birth to their firstborn - a girl named Bella. I prepared a little gift for her and enclosed this congratulation card.
The design is very simple, I used glittering design paper and paper lace for the background and I decorated the card with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a button and a baby pram embellishment which I bought in a local craft shop. The stitches around the border are simply made with a 3D-Liner.

Hearts

Every heart sings a song, incomplete,
until another heart whispers back.
Those who wish to sing always find a song.
At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.

New home

A family bought and moved to a new house, and a very good friend of mine and her boyfriend moved to their very own flat.

To congratulate the family, I made this simple card with a house. Every individual part of the house is designed and cut by hand. I especially like the lace (curtain) on the window.

To congratulate my friends I made a card and prepared a gift. The card is in the shape of the entrance door of their flat, and the heart represents love. I also wrote their surnames on the door mail slot.

To wrap my gift (hot chocolate and two lovely mugs) I used a shoe box wrapped in wrapping paper. On the inner side of the cover I glued a print of the house (downloaded from melonheadz illustrating), with positive words - love, family, trust, hope, respect, kindness, forever, faith.

I enter the card(s) to the following challenges:

Little calendar as a gift

At the end of 2013 I made little calendars, which I gave as gifts to my friends and family, but not all of them were published on the blog.
I take this opportunity and include all of them here.

I already published the tutorial here.

And a tip.. when the year came to its end, I just bought a new calendar cube and glued it on.

And two calendars with a hanger.

Hello

Dear fellow crafters,

a few of you told me you miss me, or were asking me why I do not post anymore...

It is not that I do not like crafting anymore... but just the current situation in my life. As some of you know, I live abroad, while all my crafting material is still located in Slovenia (I wish I could have it with me, but I just don't have space at the moment... or just too much stuff :P ). Therefore I only create while I go on holidays, which is unfortunately not very often.
Another reason is also focusing on my studies... which took over the majority of my time.

However, I do have some unpublished projects I have made (some of it are quite "old" and some of it really fresh), and I promise, I will be in touch and not disappear for so long again.

With love,
Renata <3
